Floyd Stage Props Raise £16,500 / Win A Day At Abbey Road
Pink Floyd have raised the figure after an eBay sale of a pair of eye-ball props used to promote the recently released Pulse DVD extravaganza attracted 46 bids. The money will be donated in full to Crisis, a homeless charity of which guitarist David Gilmour is vice-president; we applaud the idea and its execution.
On Xmas Day, Gilmour will release a contemporary version of Arnold Layne, Floyd´s first single initially issued in 1967. Vocal duties this around will be handled by none other than David Bowie.
To commemorate the release EMI UK in association with MySpace is offering a band the chance to record at the uber-famous Abbey Road Studios by recording your own version of Arnold Layne and uploading it to a specific MySpace site.
