While you might be forgiven for thinking that we spent most of our weekend in the VIP bar, the MusicRadar team were actually working at Download 2008, and we managed to persuade a number of artists to take the time out to share their festival experiences.

We spoke to members of Australian hard-rockers Airbourne, Finnish metalheads Children Of Bodom, Washington State math rockers Fall Of Troy and Chicago's Madina Lake.

In this exclusive video, these festival veterans tell all about their best and worst festival experiences and their personal Download highlights.

For more exclusive video interviews from Download 2008, check out Madina Lake's Mateo Camargo talking about his studio set-up and songwriting process, and Fall Of Troy's Thomas Erak discussing his influences and plans for the band's next album.

Chris Vinnicombe worked with us here on the MusicRadar team from the site's initial launch way back in 2007, and also contributed to Guitarist magazine as Features Editor until 2014, as well as Total Guitar magazine, amongst others. These days he can be found at Gibson Guitars, where he is editor-in-chief.
