Unseen Beatles footage scrapes £4100 at auction

1964 8mm film lost, found, sold

The long-forgotten 8mm film of The Beatles performing in Kansas City in 1964 has sold at auction for £4100. The guide price – described by MusicRadar as "conservative" - was £4000-£6000. A relative bargain, then.

The lost footage was discovered in an "old drawer" 50 years after the concert.

The auction's other items included an original vinyl copy of Please Please Me (sold for £2000), nine previously unpublished photographs of The Fab Four (sold for £950) and an old gig flyer (sold for £470).
