Baker’s light-footed technique kept Cream’s live jams from going sour, but it’s the sprawling solo spot in Toad, from 1966’s Fresh Cream, that will be his legacy.
“Where Ginger went, others followed. One of the first rockers to use double bass drums and play drum solos. Toad still blows me away.” (Martin West, Norwich)

Buddy Rich has to be #1!
Dave Weckl is #13?? HE has to be in the top 10 for sure!
Where's Carter B, he is one of the most creative, groove makers out there?

Wow! Rhythm's readers really need to expand their listening... and I have to agree this is the whitest list ever!! and I'm white! Seriously, where is Clyde Stubblefield, Dennis Chambers, Ziggy Modeliste?
and Vinnie is # 22 ?! behind Lars, Jordison, and Barker? This is the top 25 most popular, not best of all time...seriously...I know radar had no input, but this sad...
No Clyde Subblefield no Pretty Purdie yall Suck
This the whitest list i have ever seen where are the black drummers no Carter Beauford from Dave Mattews. No Amir from the Roots, No Tony Thomson from Chic. Idris Mohommed man come on you guys are Racist. Cindy Blackman too man yall suck
I'm glad that Ian Paice is on the list...Its not where he belongs though. He's definitely top five. I've been lucky enough to see him with dp a few times and he's absolutely amazing. Some of these people haven't been drumming long enough to be judged as "best" if you ask me. And um please how does Ringo starr even make it on the list? They over dubbed his parts left and right and found other drummers when he couldn't carry the beat needed.....
With all his passion, technique and magical playing.........Portnoy should be at the top 3............and.......U2's Mullen deserves also a place among the greatest 50!!
Great list, but where is Steve Jordan?
Why is Dave Grohl up there? And Lars, I would say he was good when he was younger but a modern Lars shouldn't be up there. The top four is the usual latter. Though the Dream Theater guy is a new one I've seen there and I think I won't debate that.
No Dave Lombardo; no Gene Hoglan; no Dennis Chambers????
Shit list.
Travis Parker superior to Chris Adler ???
- Very interresting... LOL
