Don't Miss "The New Django" In Concert
If you're in the smoke on 24th August you might want to head over to Le Quecumbar in Battersea to see the first performance of the newly formed John Wheatcroft Acoustic Quintet.
John´s incredible versatility as a player is well known throughout the guitar world - this project however is inspired directly by the style he loves the most, the music of Django Reinhardt.
With a set that includes both original compositions and fascinating re-arrangements of popular standards, John takes the Django style right up to date.
The Quintet's line-up features John´s old rhythm partner from John Jorgenson´s Quintet, the amazing Andy Mackenzie, along with Jim Clark on second rhythm guitar.
Both John and Andy will be holding a joint masterclass during the day before the performance covering both soloing and rhythm techniques, from 11am-4pm. Tickets are priced at £30, whilst tickets for the performance are £12 in advance or £15 on the door. Places are limited so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment. All are available online at www.quecumbar.co.uk
