Gibson are gearing up to release the new Dave Grohl model guitar next month, inspired by the Foo Fighters frontman's much loved Trini Lopez signature model.
The DG-335 has the classic Firebird-style headstock with six-on-a-side tuners set into an ES-335 style semi-hollow body. The body features diamond f-holes and a double cutaway design. The inlays on the rosewood fretboard are acrylic split diamond - a unique feature that remains from the original Trini Lopez model.
The pickups are Burstbucker 1 in the neck and Burstbucker 2 in the bridge, known for their ability to create clean and articulate distortion and responsible for helping to deliver the amazing tones that Grohl has become famous for while fronting the Foo Fighters.
The guitar will be available in Grohl's favorite Pelham Blue and will retail at around $4,468 (roughly £2,235). An Ebony version will also be available costing $3,880 (around £1,950). Each guitar includes a Custom Shop case and special certificate of authenticity signed by Grohl!
