Poogie Bell comes to town this weekend!
The Victor Bailey Group will hit the UK tomorrow for two shows (Friday and Saturday) at Charlie Wrights International on 45 Pitfield Street, London, N1 6DA.
The band features the legendary Poogie Bell (Erykah Badu, Marcus Miller, Randy Crawford) on drums making this one of the hottest tickets in town.
Charlie Wrights have posted the following biography about Bailey: "US bass guitar titan Victor Bailey has been hailed as one of the worlds greatest bass guitarists. He gained international recognition by replacing the legendary Jaco Pastorius in the innovative jazz fusion super group "Weather Report", an unenviable job that he dealt with both his own impeccable chops and a cool head. He's since enjoyed a prolific career as a 'first-call' sideman for artists as diverse as Joe Zawinul, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, Carlos Santana, and recorded over 1000 albums. As a leader of his own funky fusion bands, Victor has made three of the most highly acclaimed solo records ever by any bassist. This current tour will highlight tracks from his highly anticipated new album “Slippin´ N´ Trippin” due out in early 2009. “I think I´ve come up with my best album yet!”
Tickets are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk (0844 477 1000) or direct from the venue by calling 0207 490 8345.
Tickets are priced at £12.50 in advance or £15 at the door.
