Korg has released version 2.0 of their KP3 Kaoss Pad. This comprises two elements: the version 2.0 update itself and a revised version of the Editor Librarian.

The launch of KP3 2.0 heralds the arrival of a selection of new user-requested features that are said to provide greater flexibility in the areas of sampling and effects. The new Gate function, for example, enables you to play a sample for only as long as you hold down a sample pad, while the polyphonic Sample Edit mode is designed to streamline sample mixing.

A new loop type has also been added: the starting point of your sample can now be dictated by the way you drag your finger across the KP3's touch pad.

All the new features are catered for in version 2.0 of the Editor Librarian. This runs on both Mac and PC.

The KP3 version 2.0 package is available now. Existing KP3 users can download it for free from here.
