The 10 top lovemaking songs revealed

Marvin Gaye: still helping people to get it on.
Marvin Gaye: still helping people to get it on.

This being Valentine's season, the UK's decidedly un-sexy PRS for Music organisation (they deal with royalty payments and the like) have published the results of a survey designed to establish what are the 10 most popular songs to make love to.

Unsurprisingly, Marvin Gaye's presence looms large at the top of the list; in fact, he takes the top two places with Sexual Healing and Let's Get It On.

Slushy Commodores ballad Three Times a Lady smooches in at three, while love walrus Barry White slips into slots four (You're My First, My Last, My Everything) and ten (Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Babe).

These are all reasonable choices, but our 'Who The Hell Was Voting?' antenna started twitching when we noticed that the passion vacuum that is James Blunt is at number five (You're Beautiful).

Worse still, Chris de Burgh makes his unwelcome presence felt at seven - the mood's really been killed now - and Celine Dion douses the flames further at nine.
