Tech Music Schools Hold Careers Day
Tech Music Schools are holding a careers day on 23rd June from 2pm-6pm. The aim is to assist current and ex-students into the next phase of their career by giving them access to effective professional advice and providing real opportunities.
The afternoon will consist of presentations from:
BMI, whose work involves helping songwriters, composers and music publishers of all disciplines to develop both the creative and business skills crucial to their career.
PPL, on how they help to manage musicians' rights and maximise their earnings by licensing businesses to play music.
Martin Knight, a professional sound engineer (and ex-student at TVU) now working with the likes of Robyn and the Glastonbury festival.
Slice the Pie and The People's Music Awards, both eminent online music competitions
The Orchard, on developing an online presence as an artist.

Later, students will have a chance to speak to representatives from each organisation individually and take home information packs.
The careers day is part of the groundbreaking Artist Development Programme and will take place at our partner institution Thames Valley University, the Street/TC28, St Mary´s Road, Ealing W5 5RF. The event is open to TMS and TVU students and alumni, and no booking is required.
There will also be a competition where students will be able to submit their original songs and the best song will win a free music video shoot.
