CM Listening Challenge causes furore!
Little did we know our CM investigation into Reason 4's mixing capabilities would cause such controversy...
It seems our latest CM Listening Challenge has touched a raw nerve amongst some readers and forum users. In response to the seemingly innocent question posted by one forum member ("Reason: is it good enough to mix a track for release?"), we put Propellerhead's soft studio to the challenge by mixing the same track, first in Reason, and then in Digidesign's mighty DAW Pro Tools, to find out if listeners could tell which was which (and most importantly, which they preferred).
The ensuing debate has raised many interesting points about mixing in general, DAWs, summing, and even accusations that CM somehow 'rigged' the results! Check out the tracks and join the discussion
