Some drum modules -such as BFD2 and Addictive Drums - are designed for people who like to go deep with their rhythm programming, but if you want things a little faster and more furious (and, significantly, a whole lot cheaper) take a look at Scuzzphut´s Phatbeatz.
This PC-compatible VST plug-in is sample-based and offers ten slots for your sounds. Samples can be dragged and dropped directly into Phatbeatz from Explorer, and a 32-step sequencer enables you to build your grooves.
Also onboard are a pattern sequencer, kit browser, decay and tune controls for each sample and in-place previewing of samples and kits. There are three outputs, and effects can be applied to each of them.
