Ian Thomas to hit the Institute next Tuesday!

Legendary Brit drummer Ian Thomas is set to perform an exclusive clinic between 7-9pm at the Institute, London, next Tuesday 15 April.

Ian is renowned for being a highly versatile drummer with the ability to play in a wide range of genres with authenticity. These skills, along with his unerring sense of grove and musicality, have established him as one of the most in demand session drummers in the UK. He has worked with artists such as Seal and Paul McCartney, producers of the stature of George Martin, and has played on numerous TV themes, jingles and feature films. In addition, he has played live with names such as Tom Jones, Sting and Elton John, and is currently rehearsing and recording with none other than guitar legend Eric Clapton!

Ian has been a long-time endorsee of Yamaha drums and has a great reputation as a clinician, so this is an event not to miss.

Remember, you don't have to be an Institute student to get a slice of the action as there are a limited spaces for members of the public too. For more information on this or upcoming Institute events, contact the Institute directly on:

I'm MusicRadar's eCommerce Editor. In addition to testing the latest music gear, with a particular focus on electronic drums, it's my job to manage the 300+ buyer's guides on MusicRadar and help musicians find the right gear for them at the best prices. I dabble with guitar, but my main instrument is the drums, which I have been playing for 24 years. I've been a part of the music gear industry for 20 years, including 7 years as Editor of the UK's best-selling drum magazine Rhythm, and 5 years as a freelance music writer, during which time I worked with the world's biggest instrument brands including Roland, Boss, Laney and Natal.
