Eminem and Bruno stunt "was staged"
Writer says stars rehearsed it
Eminem's close encounter with Bruno (AKA Sacha Baron Cohen) has been hotly-debated since it took place at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, with most wondering whether the comedian's fleshy descent onto the rapper was an impromptu or choreographed stunt.
Well, it transpires that it may have been the latter. Scott Aukerman, a comedy writer who worked on the show, posted a blog that stated: "Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged. That's all anyone wants to talk about, so let's get it out of the way.
"They rehearsed it at dress rehearsal and yes, it went then as far as it did on the live show."
Curiously, though, this blog entry now seems to have been removed from Aukerman's site, and there's been speculation that, although Eminem was in on the joke, he wasn't expecting it to go quite as far as it did.
One thing's for sure, though: anyone who didn't know that Eminem has a new album out or that the Bruno movie will hit cinemas this summer certainly does now.
