NAMM 2008: Alesis SR-18 drum machine is portable
A replacement for the popular SR-16 with built-in effects and a bass synth
The Alesis SR-16 helped ignite the drum-machine market in the early '90s. Alesis hopes the brand-new SR-18 will follow the tradition of its successful ancestor by meeting the demands of today's musicians.
To do this, the SR-18 comes with a built-in effects engine including reverb, EQ and compression customisation. Optional battery operation increases portability options too. The SR-18 also features:
- 32MB sound set with percussion bank and bass synth
- pattern play mode enables for pad triggering
- mute/solo function for parts - drums, bass and percussion
Alesis SR-18 will be available Q2 2008 with an RRP of $399. Visit the Alesis website for more information.
