More legends of Leo Fender's crowning glory

David Byrne may not be the first person you think of when Strat legends come to mind, but since the Talking Heads’ earliest days, when they would help sharpen New York’s late '70s new wave scene, he’s made his indelible musical mark with Fenders. First, it was a Duo Sonic; later a 1962 sunburst Stratocaster.
The minimalist, jagged guitar patterns that informed Talking Heads' first recordings bore the distinct sound of the Strat - the ‘62 especially, which became Byrne‘s road dog for many years.
Check out this live clip from 1980 of Take Me To The River, in which Byrne and the Heads are augmented by guitar maverick Adrian Belew.
Tent-show revival meetings this cathartic could only come from Stratocasters.
I can't believe Peter Green isn't in part 1or 2. The greatest british blues guitarist of all time. Yes better than clapton. Just listen to his strat playing on 'Need your love so bad'
Also forgot to mention Chris Rea. You cant forget him!!
Definitely need a part 3. Even just to get Steve Hackett in there. I know he's often more seen with a LP but he plays a mean strat too. Listen to the guitar on Please Don't Touch. Innovative and a tone to laser your head off..
What about Dave Murray?
Nice list. I agree with your comments on Albert Hammond's album Yours To Keep. It's fantastic - i couldn't stop listening to it when it first came out.
there are some people there i have never heard or have heard of. but idon't really think that alex turner counts as a strat hero.
Wayne Krantz is the only glaring omission I can think of.
No, no. Elvis Costello is in the picture. But there's a video link that shows Robbie playing with Clapton. Two ECs.
Is that really Clapton with Robbie Robertson? Looks more like the other EC, Elvis Costello.
Richie Kotzen! Probably the most rounded, gifted and exciting strat player of the last 20 years, I reckon.
