It’s a been a long, long time coming, but we’ve finally got our hands on FXpansion’s DCAM Synth Squad soft synth suite. The package includes three synths: Amber, Cypher, and Strobe, plus a shell called Fusor which can layer up to three synths along with insert effects for each one.
Today we’ve been getting to grips Strobe, which is a virtual analogue synth with unison detune, multi-mode filter, analogue control for a more “unstable and distressed” sound, and a selection of sub oscillators.
But how does it sound? Well, here are some audio clips recorded from three of the synth’s presets, but for more than that you’ll have to wait for our full review! We’ll look at another of DCAM’s synths tomorrow.
Note: if these clips don't play correctly right click them and select "Save As" to save the file to your hard drive.
