Jimi's greatest hits are to be played live once again as the Experience Hendrix Tour kicks off in the US.
The star-flecked sold-out run of seven dates is sponsored by Gibson Guitar, with some of the most respected figures in rock and blues celebrating the genius of Jimi Hendrix.
Artists performing music written by and associated with Jimi Hendrix include blues giant Buddy Guy, pedal steel virtuoso Robert Randolph and contemporary guitar great Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Special guests include The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, Rolling Stones veteran Mick Taylor and blues legend Hubert Sumlin.
The tour even features Jimi's Woodstock rhythm section Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (bass) playing Hendrix signature songs “Purple Haze,” “Hey Joe,” “Voodoo Child,” “Red House” and many more.
The first Experience Hendrix Tour sold out in 2004.
