Arena rockers Def Leppard are to release their comeback single Nine Lives exclusively through video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
The single will be available to buy - and play - on Guitar Hero a week in advance of the single´s retail and online release.
Available on the 24th April 2008 as part of a three-track Def Leppard song pack, Nine Lives will be playable exclusively on Xbox 360 consoles a week ahead of its debut in stores and through online music distribution services. It will then be made available through Playstation 3 on the 8th May 2008. The pack will also include Leppard classics Rock Of Ages and Photograph.
It is the first time ever a band or artist has released a new single ahead of its traditional launch through a videogame.
Leppard release new studio album Songs From the Sparkle Lounge digitally on 28th April and physically on 5th May.
