Michael Jackson to play more London O2 shows than Prince
Star set for 25 nights
Michael Jackson has announced more shows as part of his summer residency at London's O2 Arena.
The Michael Jackson Live website now indicates that the star will play a total of 25 shows, with the first being on Wednesday 8 July and the last on Thursday 10 September.
If Jackson plays all of these dates, he will outdo his '80s rival Prince, who had a successful 21-night residency at The O2 in 2007.
Demand for pre-sale tickets for the original ten confirmed gigs has reportedly been high - so much so that some fans have had problems purchasing them online.
"We have witnessed an unprecedented level of demand for the Michael Jackson concerts at the O2," said Chris Edmonds, managing director of Ticketmaster UK.
"Unfortunately due to a technical issue, we were unable to facilitate all immediate ticket requests. Apologies to those fans who were unable to log on, but fans should keep on trying to purchase tickets."
Tickets go on general sale from Friday 13 March at 7am (GMT).
