IK Multimedia promises "another first" in modelling technology

IK has been up to its modelling tricks again.
IK has been up to its modelling tricks again.

More details have emerged regarding IK Multimedia's plans for the 2009 Winter NAMM show.

We already knew that the company was hosting a press conference, but it's now stated that it will unveil "another first in the realm of sound and modelling technology".

Whether this will relate to IK's AmpliTube software isn't quite clear, but what we do know is that the new products (note the plural) will be useable both on stage and in the studio, and also that they're designed to emulate "One of the most influential sounds of all time".

That last line has got us thinking - could this refer to a specific guitar tone, or are we dealing with a completely different instrument type here?

All will be revealed when IK Multimedia hosts its press conference on 15 January at 5.30pm.
