Native Instruments is clearly in a giving mood this Christmas, for it's decided to release a free Soundpack for its Kore 2 platform.

However, because it's also compatible with Kore Player (which can be downloaded for nothing), you can use it without shelling out a single bean.

Kore Soundpack Compilation Vol. 1 features content from all 11 of NI's existing Soundpacks - it's the software equivalent of a record label sampler, basically - and includes 93 instruments and 10 multi-effects sounds in the KoreSound format. There are 700 variations to play with, too.

Although Kore Player doesn't enable you to get into the guts of the patches, you can tweak them using the Sound Controls.

So, what are you waiting for? The Kore Soundpack Compilation is available now as an 84MB (PC) or 104MB (Mac) download.
