Nirvana's Nevermind baby recreates classic album cover
It's 17 years since Spencer Elden was photographed by Kirk Weddle in a swimming pool in California. The image - with the addition of a dollar bill on a fishing hook - would of course go on to achieve iconic status on the cover of Nirvana's 1991 masterpiece Nevermind.
For reasons known only to himself, Elden - now a high school student - recently decided to recreate the classic album cover in the same pool at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, CA. The dollar bill bait has again been added, but this time around Elden's tackle is wisely hidden by a pair of shorts.
Elden told MTV last year that "It's kind of creepy that many people have seen me naked. I feel like I'm the world's biggest porn star." But despite his parents being paid a mere $200 for allowing him to be photographed, it's apparently not all bad being the Nevermind baby.
"I have to use stupid pickup lines like, You want to see my penis... again?" We bet the ladies love that one.
Just think, in the time it's taken the Nevermind baby to grow up, the world is still waiting for Axl Rose to release the first meaningful follow-up to Guns N' Roses' 1991 Use Your Illusion albums. Oh well, whatever, nevermind.
