Christopher Cross UK dates!
Christopher Cross At London's Jazz Café -
Friday 4th & Saturday 5th December 2009
US singer/guitarist Christopher Cross plays two nights at London's famous Jazz Cafe on 4th & 5th December.
Cross is best known for the hit songs, "Sailing", "Ride Like the Wind", and "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)", the latter of which featured in the film Arthur starring Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli. "Think Of Laura", from his second album, was also a hit and provided the theme for the US ABC Television series 'General Hospital'.
Cross began his musical career with Texas heavy-rock band, Flash, and was soon signed to Warner Brothers Records on the strength of his songwriting talents. His self titled debut album 'Christopher Cross', was released in 1979 and it earned him five Grammy Awards and, to this day, he is still the only solo artist to receive all of 'the big four' Grammy Awards (Best Record, Song, Album & New Artist) in the same year. "Sailing", taken from the self titled debut album, earned three of the awards at the 1981 Grammy's, while "Arthur's Theme", which Cross co-wrote with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen, won the Oscar for Best Original Song, in the same year.
At the shows he will be playing a mixture of older classics and newer songs.
