Gretsch chose this year’s NAMM Show to kick-off its 125th birthday celebrations by unveiling the Chet Atkins Anniversary model electric guitar. Now, the humble snare drum joins the party. Please welcome the Gretsch Vintage USA Maple Limited Edition Snare…
The drums were hand selected from 300 original Vintage USA Jasper shells, which for the past decade, have been collecting dust in the Gretsch factory in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Spec includes classic lugs, “Lightning" throw-off, Silver Sealer shell interior, die-cast hoops and Gretsch’s unique 30-degree bearing edge - all made with the original factory machines.
The shells also feature a Champagne Sparkle wrap with vintage round badge.
Keeping with the birthday theme, Gretsch have made 125 drums available for public consumption through Guitar Center, with an RRP of $599.99. For your money, you’ll also receive a Limited Edition 125th Anniversary Gretsch drum head and two signatures from Fred Gretsch himself: one on the inside of the shell, and one on the official Gretsch Drums book.
