Ableton´s attempts to bring more ‘traditional´ musicians into its fold are continuing with the launch of its Orchestral Instruments. This new range of Live add-ons has been developed in partnership with Sonivox, and comprises four titles that can be purchased separately or as a bundle.

The collections go by the names of Strings, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion, so no further explanation of which areas of the orchestra they cover is needed. Each one contains samples at a range of velocities, and different articulations are included, too.

The Orchestral Instruments integrate seamlessly into Live and, thanks to a technology known as SmartPriming, are said to make efficient use of CPU resources.

Available now from the Ableton webshop, the Strings. Brass and Woodwinds Orchestral Instruments cost $189/€159 each, while the Percussion collection is available for $159/€129. The complete bundle can be yours for $599/€499.

More information on the Orchestral Instruments - included a video overview - can be found on the Ableton website.
