KV331’s SynthMaster soft synths are widely considered to be some of the best around, not least by MusicRadar. If you’ve yet to experience what one of them has to offer, though - or if you’ve tried one SynthMaster product and have understandably developed a taste for more - now is the perfect time to put that right, as the entire range is currently available at a whopping 60% discount thanks to KV331’s Summer Sale.

The flagship of the range is SynthMaster 2, a semi-modular synth Swiss Army Knife that can do pretty much everything. And when we say everything, we mean that its synthesis methods include virtual analogue, additive, wavetable, phase modulation, frequency modulation, pulse width modulation, ring modulation, amplitude modulation, physical modelling and SFZ sample playback. Phew.

As well as its multi-algorithm oscillators, SynthMaster 2 also offers analogue-modelled and digital filters, 12 types of effects and flexible routing thereof, and a sophisticated modulation system with 52 modulation sources and real-time visual feedback. There are 2,000 factory presets, and if that isn’t enough for you, a further 37 expansion packs (available to purchase separately).

SynthMaster 2 is on sale on PC and Mac for the bargain price of $39, while the iOS version, which runs standalone and as an AUv3 plugin, is yours for a crazy $10. If you have both versions, you can take advantage of the cross-synchronisation features, which enable you to design presets on one platform and sync them with the other.

If you want the great sound of SynthMaster 2 but aren’t so bothered about its in-depth editing features, may we recommend SynthMaster Player. This gives you the 2,000 presets and access to expansions, but offers limited ways to tweak them. This can currently be had on PC and Mac for a mere $12.

Finally, we come to SynthMaster One, not an older version of SynthMaster 2, but an easy-to-use wavetable synth with a simple workflow. That said, SynthMaster One does share SynthMaster 2’s engine, but up front it’s a much more straightforward proposition thanks to its single layer/screen architecture.

KV331 certainly hasn’t scrimped on SynthMaster One’s sound, though, which is powered by rich wavetable content that’s assembled into 1,200 factory presets. Again, more can be added via expansion banks - 14 of them, in this case.

Like SynthMaster 2, SynthMaster One can be purchased on both PC/Mac and iOS, with sale prices set at $20 and $8 respectively.

As you can see, there are some real bargains to be had, but if you want to make your money go even further, you might consider one of the high-value bundles that KV331 is also discounting right now. You can buy the PC/Mac versions of SynthMaster 2 and One for a combined price of just $49, while all 37 SynthMaster 2 expansions can currently be had for $79, and all 14 SynthMaster One expansions are yours for $29. Both of these last two bundles include all future expansions, too.

Finally, if you want to max out the savings, there’s the SynthMaster Everything bundle, which contains both synths, all current and future expansions, and a free upgrade to SynthMaster 3 when it’s released in 2023. That sounds like $149 well spent to us.

The KV331 sale runs until 4 September 2022. Make sure you don’t miss out.
