The Killers top driving songs poll
Top 10 songs to get your motor running
With an apparent lack of any roadkill irony, the UK´s drivers have voted The Killers as the top band to listen to while driving.
A poll of 1000 drivers by insurance company elephant.co.uk - yeah, MusicRadar really trusts their musical savvy, obviously - put The Killers´ Mr Brightside at the top of a poll of ultimate driving songs. Whatever a ‘driving song´ actually is?
In fact a ‘driving song´ appears to be - with the exception of Mr Brightside - just old music. Some of it rubbish. The Top 10 driving songs in the poll are:
1 The Killers - Mr Brightside
2 Bonnie Tyler - Holding Out For A Hero
3 Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
4 Don McLean - American Pie
5 Guns N' Roses - Paradise City
6 Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild
7 Cyndi Lauper - I Drove All Night
8 Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger
9 Stealer's Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You
10 Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally
With that soundtrack, is it any wonder there´s so much mayhem on the UK´s roads? Tip for musicians, though - go '70s-'80s AOR and you´ll be sure to get at least some plays in the UK´s family cars. Put your foot down and tell us: what do you like to drive to?
