We told you back in March that Daft Punk had signed up to create the soundtrack to the new Tron movie (now called Tron Legacy), and now some curious details have emerged that reveal how they got the gig in the first place.

According to Movieline, the film's director Joseph Kosinski met the duo at a "mysterious pancake breakfast in LA", and confirmed that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo were wearing their trademark helmets.

Whether these remained in place during the eating of the pancakes isn't clear, but the sight of Daft Punk attempting to stuff crepes through their face grills would surely have been one to behold.

There's also speculation that the duo will tour in support of the film, with Movieline reporting that there will definitely be Daft Punk Tron-themed events.

Tron Legacy will be released in 2010.
