Chickenfoot blew the Big Apple away last night, and MusicRadar was there. From soundcheck till the very last note was played, we covered the whole crazy affair.
Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith brought noise, chops and some genuine rock 'n' roll excitement to the Fillmore at Irving Plaza.
Before they did, however, they let us hang with their trusty road crew, who gave us a guided tour of the band's onstage gear.
Check back in with MusicRadar next week and we'll show you what the newest supergroup uses to be, well, super. And we'll even have an exclusive backstage chat with Joe Satriani.
Drum tech Three (that's what they call him) makes last-minute adjustments to Chad Smith's drum kit.

Joe is a freelance journalist who has, over the past few decades, interviewed hundreds of guitarists for Guitar World, Guitar Player, MusicRadar and Classic Rock. He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
