Jambé electronic percussion instrument launches

Promises over 1000 levels of pressure sensitivity

Jambé is designed to look traditional, but is decidedly hi-tech.

There's a new electronic percussion instrument on the way known as the Jambé. Developer SensorPoint says that this will be the subject of a Kickstarter campaign that will launch in March.

Designed to look like a traditional drum, the Jambé works in conjunction with your iPad or computer. It can be played with your hands or sticks, while its pads are said to be capable of sensing over 1000 pressure levels and to feature "advanced gesture detection algorithms".
