Check out this video lesson
One-third of the terrifyingly talented Telecaster trio The Hellecasters, Jerry Donahue is one of the world´s most respected country players. The stars he´s played or recorded with include Robert Plant, Elton John, George Harrison, Bonnie Raitt and many more.
Jerry is an expert at bending strings, and in this video lesson, Jerry explains the country guitar technique of bending the string behind the nut - a technique he helped pioneer.
Bending behind the nut allows you to bend just one string whilst leaving the other strings to ring open. Done properly, this can give the effect of a pedal steel guitar.
