RGT Guitar Tutor Of The Year Announced!
Llanelli-based guitarist Dave Crawford has won the RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) Guitar Tutor of the Year Award 2008.
The award is sponsored by Future Publishing, which publishes Total Guitar and our sister mags Guitarist and
Guitar Techniques.
Dave was presented with a cheque for £500 and the winner´s trophy at the RGT´s annual conference last week by Guitar Techniques editor Neville Marten (pictured left).
Dave had the highest number of students in the UK successfully pass RGT guitar exams during the academic year.
“The award is a reflection of all the hard work and practice put in by my students," he said. "I´ve been using the RGT exams for over 10 years as I find they are very useful for motivating students and the musical content of RGT exams reflects the educational needs of modern guitar players.”
Four runner-up finalists, Julian Brady, Vic Hyland, Graham Corbould and Marc Galea, were each awarded £50 and an engraved plaque, and the RGT Guitar School of the Year trophy was awarded to Riffs Guitar School of Stockport.
