Gibson Present Nelson Mandela Signature Axe!
OK, so it's not exactly as it sounds in the headline... but to celebrate his 90th birthday Gibson has custom made a one-off guitar for Nelson Mandela!
The axe makers plan to hand it to the former South African president at his birthday celebration concert in Hyde Park on 27th June.
The unique Les Paul Studio model features the official concert artwork of a hand and Nelson Mandela´s prison number 46664 emblazoned across its body.
It will be signed by the artists performing at the concert, which include Queen + Paul Rodgers, Amy Winehouse and Razorlight.
“The 46664 message is one that needs to be heard in every corner of the world," said a spokesman for 46664.
