Guitarist Tony Iommi has issued a statement thanking his fans for their messages of support following his recent cancer diagnosis.

A statement posted on the Black Sabbath Facebook page has revealed that Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma – a cancer which affects certain immune system cells.

Tony Iommi has paid tribute to his recently-departed bandmate, Ronnie James Dio, issuing the following statement on his MySpace.
