Fender reissues ‘60s Blackface Princeton Reverb amp

Fender has launched a vintage reissue of a classic at Summer NAMM 2008: The '65 Princeton Reverb guitar amp based on the original '60s Blackface Princeton Reverb combo.

For those who are unaware, the original Blackface Princeton Reverb was a 15-watt, single channel combo designed primarily as a practice amp, featuring Fender reverb and vibrato effects.

Original Princetons have become fairly sought-after in recent years for their sumptuous clean tube tone, and you can expect to pay over $2000 for a clean, all-original example. According to Fender, the new '65 Princeton Reverb reissue promises "all of the great tone and dynamics of the original... in an affordable, roadworthy reissue".

While the '65 Princeton Reverb is rated at 15-watts and is sure to excel in the studio, rehearsals and small gigs shouldn't be ruled out. We can't wait to get our hands on one and crank it up.

Price and availability have yet to be announced, but there's more info on the amp at Fender's official website.
