U2 released their new album, No Line On The Horizon, today, 2 March. And the Irish quartet are working their asses off to promote themselves and the album.

They were all over the BBC at the weekend. Now they're cuddling up to David Letterman for a week in NYC.

Practically everybody who is remotely interested in U2 will now have heard No Line On The Horizon. And everyone knows their big hits as well.

So what is left to know about The World's Biggest Band?

Not much. But here are... 11 U2 rarities you should hear

U2 are 'The Dalton Brothers'

Not sure why this alter-ego came about. Best not to ask. The Dalton Brothers are Betty Dalton (Adam Clayton), Duke Dalton (Larry Mullen Jnr), Luke Dalton (The Edge) and Alton Dalton (Bono).

Edge sings Van Dieman's Land

A rarity, written and sung by The Edge. Ignore, if possible, that he looks like Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean.

The Ground Beneath Her Feet

Edge and Bono, in 2000, play an acoustic version of this underrated cracker from the Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack. Watch here.

U2 by Negativland

U2 sued Negativland over this. It stars a cursing Casey Kasem (veteran American DJ and the voice of Shaggy in Scooby-Doo) and some kazoo. What's not to like?

Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Sad

A tribute to Frank Sinatra. And Bono still remains un-shot by 'the mob'?

Wire

One of U2's most ferocious songs, with The Edge in full Edge-mode. This song, from 1984, was one of U2's first songs produced by Brian Eno. U2 only performed this song during The Unforgettable Fire tour. Watch it here.

Bono forgets the lyrics to Party Girl

Poor Bono. He has to have The Edge guide him through the lyrics in front of everybody. Happens to everybody.

The Fool

It's 31 years ago and a young U2 get the thumbs down on a TV show. "I don't like that kind of music". Nah, they won't catch on...

Electrical Storm

A one-off single from 2002 welded to their second Greatest Hits package. Is it just us, or is this better than anything since Achtung Baby?

40 at Red Rocks

Nothing strange about this? Look closer. The Edge is playing bass and Adam Clayton is on guitar. And guess what?...He sounds like The Edge.

Edge is a Monkee!

When 'Dave Evans' was rocking his gay cowboy look in the late '90s, he just couldn't resist a karaoke turn. Here he does The Monkees' Daydream Believer. Astonishing.
