As Black Friday 2019 rolls around again, it’s time for musicians to empty their wallets and pick up the best Black Friday music deals of the year. Software has always been a big draw across Cyber Weekend, so we’re particularly excited to see what Black Friday plugin deals reveal themselves during the event.

Black Friday is more than just a single day of online shopping madness. Black Friday itself takes place on Friday 29 November, stretching across the weekend and into Cyber Monday on December 2.

But we’re expecting to see monster deals coming through well in advance of that, particularly when it comes to music software. Whether you’re looking for a new compressor, to update your DAW, load up on soft synths or get stuck into the latest music-making apps, there’s sure to be some amazing Black Friday deals to be had.

With increasing numbers of brands and retailers participating in Black Friday each year, we reckon at the very least there will be deals from the likes of Plugin Boutique, Waves, Toontrack and Native Instruments, just to name a few.

Where can I find the best Black Friday plugin deals?

Loads of plugin and music software sites will be taking part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday for 2019, so it’s worth signing up to mailing lists of your favourite retailers to get the jump on the best deals.

Of course, if you can’t be bothered with the stress of searching through the latest deals yourself, our experts will be pulling all-nighters across the event to uncover the very best Black Friday plugin deals and publishing them right here.

In fact, we’d recommend bookmarking this page - as well as our main Black Friday 2019 hub page - while you remember. It will be mecca for the best music software and music gear deals come Black Friday.

Black Friday plugin deals: what to expect

As with previous years, the deals start rolling in early, some as early as October.

The great thing is that, as plugins are downloads rather than physical products, they won’t sell out. A more realistic consideration is that some of these deals might be time-limited, so we’d recommend you don’t ponder a purchase for too long.

Discounts can range from a few pounds/dollars off a cool sample pack, to massive percentage discounts of huge swathes of music production software. Last year, Native Instruments knocked 50% off 175 of it's best products, including the likes of Kontakt 6, Traktor Pro 3, Monark, Massive, Guitar Rig 5 and Reaktor 6. Other companies will offer bundle deals, too – the more you purchase, the more you save.

In their last sale, Waves knocked a staggering $3,450 off their Horizon plugin bundle, dropping it to just $549. For vintage fans, you could pick up the Abbey Road Vinyl plugin for just $49 (usually $249). Will we see more of the same on Black Friday?

These are a silly numbers, so if you’re planning on updating your studio or adding to your collection to boost your music production set-up, it’s well worth marking your diary for Black Friday.

How can I prepare for Black Friday?

Start your wishlist now! The most sensible way to take advantage of the best Black Friday plugin deals is to know in advance what you’re looking for. This will make searching much easier, rather than having to trawl through loads of deals you don’t want to find the ones you do.

Check out your favourite brands, see what you need and will genuinely use – don’t waste your cash and load up on stuff you won’t use. Has there been a raft of new software launches lately? If so, perhaps the old version will be massively discounted for Black Friday?

What are you music production goals for the next 12 months? Is there software that will help you achieve them? Now could be the time to invest.
