Dio Rejoins
Well, not Black Sabbath as such but a new band called Heaven and Hell that comprises guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Vinnie Appice. The line-up have already got together to record a brace of new tunes for the upcoming best-of album Black Sabbath: The Dio Years.
Speaking to MTV, the diminutive™ singer said: "About four months ago, I went over to England to Tony's house, where he has a studio. We started to work together, and it was really so enjoyable. After long spaces of time not working with people, you forget how good they are or how much you liked being around them."
Best of all is that a world tour is planned, scheduled to begin in Canada on 3 March before winding through all territories, including Europe and good old Blighty.
What of Ozzy Osbourne? Upon hearing the news, a terse statement was released: "Tony Iommi and Ronnie Dio are working on a project together which has nothing to do with Black Sabbath. There is only one Black Sabbath."
Fight, fight, fight…!
