Lisbon turns down Metallica drum solo

Portuguese Metallica fans have shunned a Lars Ulrich drum solo.

The band offered fans at their Lisbon gig last night the choice of a solo from the excitable sticksman or a cover version.

Much to our, and presumably Lars', dismay, the baying crowd opted for the latter.

So, instead of an Ulrich solo, they got a rendition of Diamond Head's 'Helpless'.

We know which we'd have preferred, especially if the thrash masters were planning to revive their live drum battles, like this one below.
