In the TED Talk above, producer Mark Ronson delivers a staunch defence of sampling, discussing its transformative impact on music over the past 30 years.

To demonstrate his point - that sampling is about "inserting yourself into the narrative of a song" rather than just hijacking what's gone before - he traces the history and evolution of Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick's La Di Da Di, while also mixing-up a couple of audio/visual performances.
