Your band could play Leeds '09!
Here´s the chance to get your school on the musical map... by tapping into your band's talent and helping people in poverty around the world you could even end up playing live at the Leeds Festival!
Charity Oxfam has teamed up with online music community NUMU in a new competition called Oxjam: The Big School Gig.
Oxjam is calling on students and teachers to organise a Battle of
the Bands-style gig at their schools to raise funds for Oxfam. Entrants
have to be aged between 5-19, and it´s open to bands, singers,
rappers, soloists, or any other music-related act, playing any style
of music.
Each school will choose an act from their gig to progress to a national online round on NUMU. Movers and shakers in the music industry will then pick the top 10 and a public vote will select the ultimate winner to appear live at Leeds Festival 2009!
Anyone at your school can join in, and it can link with an existing event, project or curriculum, including Music KS3 & 4.
