Even Rivers Cuomo and the guys in Weezer are getting in the holiday spirit. The band have teamed with the makers of Tap Tap Revenge for a brand-new, Christmas-themed game for the iPhone.

Get ready to tap your thumbs and shake your iPhone to Christmas With Weezer, which will feature recordings of holiday classics such as We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Silent Night, O Holy Night, First Noel, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, O Come, All Ye Faithful and two unspecified bonus tracks.

If the song titles at first sound a little tame, we're told the tracks have been 'Weezerized,' so they won't exactly be Bing Crosby, if you know what we mean.

"I agreed to do these special recordings for the game because I am a fan of each of the songs" Rivers Cuomo

Cuomo is stoked

"I agreed to do these special recordings for the game because I am a fan of each of the songs," says Cuomo. "The melody and vocal lines are incredible and it was fun to sing them."

Don't go looking for Christmas With Weezer at your local CD store, though - or your favorite online sites - the tracks will be exclusive to the game and won't be available anywhere else.

Which was part of the allure for the group. Says Weezer drummer Pat Wilson, "I love that our band is the first to actually record songs specifically for an app and Tap Tap Revenge seemed like the perfect one."

Christmas With Weezer will be available for $4.99 via the Apple App Store within the next few days.

Happy tapping!
