You can have all the best music software in the world, but if you don't know how to use it, it won't help you create a great track. e-instruments - creators of high-quality virtual instruments - put together a series of Producer Tips videos that show you how to get the most out of their products and level up your production game.

Six of these are available to watch now - see below - and expect new videos to arrive, so be sure to subscribe to the e-instruments YouTube channel. Also, don't forget to sign up for notifications so you'll know as soon as a new video has been released.

e-instruments are happy to take requests for future videos. If there's a subject you'd love to see covered, shout out to them in the comments.

Now is a great time to buy if you like what you see. Head over to the e-instruments website from today, where all Session Keys products are available for half-price until 22 April.

But, for now, though, let's check what's already available.

Accompanying Guitar with Stradivari Cello

Watch Timmy from e-instruments go to work on an acoustic guitar recording, adding layered cello parts to create depth and texture.

You’ll discover how to use the right articulations to get the perfect balance between rhythm and melody and learn how to add realism by automating the dynamics and vibrato. You’ll also see how Timmy mixes his cello parts to achieve the perfect levels of width and depth.

Layering String Parts Using Session Strings Pro 2

As Timmy ably demonstrates, strings can really humanise and add depth to your electronic music. He uses some of the killer features in Session Strings Pro 2 - such as Smart Voice Split, which makes it easy to layer-up realistic ensemble parts - to create a rhythmic backing that’s topped off with a violin section in the upper registers.

Organic Brass Bass with Session Horns Pro

Horns aren’t just for soul and funk; Timmy uses e-instruments’ Session Horns Pro to add a brass bassline and 4-part layered horns to a house track.

Once again, articulations add movement and realism, and you’ll see how a tuba mixed with sub-bass - yes, you read that right - can make for a surprisingly effective low-end.

Resampling Chords From Animator Sequences

Session Keys Upright’s Animator feature is an excellent tool if your piano playing isn’t so hot or you simply need quick inspiration. Timmy’s back again to show you how it works and how to layer piano parts, chop them up, and use filters to create space in the mix for vocals.

Atmospheric Textures With Session Keys Upright

We’re working with Session Keys Upright again, exploring its often overlooked Colour feature. This can add instant atmosphere and texture to your piano parts - see how it works on both chords and melodies.

Using Smart Chord To Build Cool Chord Progressions

It’s not always easy to develop a chord progression for a track… unless you have access to e-instruments’ Smart Chord feature. Here, you can see Timmy applying it to the Session Keys Electric R instrument, creating a hip-hop/soul progression that fits perfectly with the track he’s working on.
