Take this month - issue 152, May 2008 - you'll find Bodhisattva by Steely Dan and Ride A White Swan by Marc Bolan's T. Rex.
Both are great songs, but while Denny Dias and Skunk Baxter's solos in the Steely track will take a bit of work nailing that 'blues-to-jazz' vibe, the Bolan number will provide quicker satisfaction. It's still a fine tune, with a great Clapton style solo.
