Michael Schenker News Frenzy!
It's all go in the Michael Schenker camp: putting the various troubles of his last UK tour behind him, the former Scorpions and UFO guitar star is returning to these shores to play more gigs and offer guitar lessons - at £200 an hour - plus he's also working on a new album.
There are two dates next year billed as Michael Schenker & Friends:
10 Jan - Swindon, 12 Bar
17 Feb - Bristol, Thekla
Then there's another date billed as MSG (Michael Schenker Group):
9 Feb - Manchester University
Michael Schenker posted a message on his web site last month claiming that he was about to begin work on a new MSG (Michael Schenker Group) studio album featuring "great, well-known musicians (the choices are fantastic), followed up by a world tour."
And if you're interested in guitar lessons from the man himself, lessons in the London area can be booked via:
Goott Records
e-mail: msguitarlessons@earthlink.net
phone: 00447504150200
Location: North London
£200 (approx. $410) (1 hour)
Schenker's UK tour this past summer was cut short due to a "multitude of events beyond the band's control, including Michael's," according to a posting on Schenker's MySpace page.
Schenker's last gig in the UK took place on August 3 in Stourbridge, UK when Michael ended up calling off the concert after only a handful of songs.
