Step 9: Drag a Compressor onto the ride channel, after the EQ. We're going to compress the ride with a sidechain input from the kick drum. This will cause the ride's volume to be lowered whenever the kick plays. Click the triangle at the top left hand corner of the Compressor's interface to bring up its extended options.

  • Serban MatechThe beat sounds like a 2 year old fell over on one end of the control surface and walked over to the other. What have you done with the snare? So over processed! All dynamics here are lost... The tips are good but you should of composed a more alive and dynamic beat than what is presented. Don't insult people's intelligence by give them simple examples. Your reader base probably isn't 12 year olds.
