Step 6: Let's add a ride cymbal to our basic two-step beat to keep this thing rolling. Load the Ride 01 sample (right-click to download) into yet another Simpler and program a rhythm like the one shown here. Observe the velocity level and note length variations. If you'd rather, you can simply load up the Rides MIDI clip (right-click to download).

  • Serban MatechThe beat sounds like a 2 year old fell over on one end of the control surface and walked over to the other. What have you done with the snare? So over processed! All dynamics here are lost... The tips are good but you should of composed a more alive and dynamic beat than what is presented. Don't insult people's intelligence by give them simple examples. Your reader base probably isn't 12 year olds.
