Step 5: Now we have a basic kick and snare, but the kick could use a little more top end. Rather than using EQ to achieve this, let's mix in a closed hi-hat instead. Create a new Simpler track and drag in the Chat10 sample (right-click to download). Trigger this on the same beats as the kick and turn the channel volume down to -32.2dB.

  • Serban MatechThe beat sounds like a 2 year old fell over on one end of the control surface and walked over to the other. What have you done with the snare? So over processed! All dynamics here are lost... The tips are good but you should of composed a more alive and dynamic beat than what is presented. Don't insult people's intelligence by give them simple examples. Your reader base probably isn't 12 year olds.
