Step 15: Add another Compressor and this time route the snare channel to the sidechain input. Copy the settings we've used here, which again create a heavy ducking effect. If you solo the breakbeat channel now, it sounds awful, but the idea is to make a smoother-sounding drum mix overall, which it does.

  • Serban MatechThe beat sounds like a 2 year old fell over on one end of the control surface and walked over to the other. What have you done with the snare? So over processed! All dynamics here are lost... The tips are good but you should of composed a more alive and dynamic beat than what is presented. Don't insult people's intelligence by give them simple examples. Your reader base probably isn't 12 year olds.
